Job summary

Hunter Selection is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for Poole, Dorset. The role focuses on responding to machine breakdowns, preventative maintenance, and improving reliability within a manufacturing environment.

You'll work Monday to Friday with overtime and occasional weekend work; benefits include a 20% pension, 32 days holiday, buy holiday, health cash plan, career opportunities, cycle to work, and free parking.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualifications required (C&G Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 / apprenticeship trained).
• Experience in maintenance within manufacturing or production environments.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Respond to machine breakdowns to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
• Execute planned maintenance and react to urgent maintenance needs.
• Apply root cause analysis and 5S as part of improvements.
• Support a culture of continuous improvement to eliminate recurring problems.
• Carry out routine preventative maintenance tasks.
• Record maintenance activities in an electronic reporting system.

Our client is a leading manufacturer that is dedicated to producing products that's quality is recognised as second to none. With a strong order book and due to growth into various export markets they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Respond to machine breakdowns with a view to minimising downtime and improving long term machine reliability
• Execution of the Lead/Senior Maintenance Engineer's plan to work preventatively in addition to reactively
• Use of appropriate root cause analysis tools & 5S
• Actively support a culture of Continuous Improvement, looking at ways to engineer out persistent problems
• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance
• Accurately record all maintenance tasks performed on an electronic reporting system

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Formal Engineering Qualification - C&G Level 3, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship trained
• Continuous improvement knowledge
• Strong knowledge of good engineering standards
• Experience in Engineering, manufacturing or production environments
