Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is looking for a Maintenance Engineer/Technician with a combined electrical and mechanical background to support planned and reactive maintenance across site process equipment at a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing site in Corby.

You will minimise downtime by carrying out planned preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control systems, and responding promptly to breakdowns.

Qualifications

• Engineering/technical qualification or apprenticeship completed.
• NVQ3/City & Guilds/HNC or equivalent.
• Experience in food, beverage, dairy or FMCG manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and preventative maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on process equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control faults.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer/Technician with a combined electrical and mechanical background to support planned and reactive maintenance across site process equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime and maintaining operational efficiency within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on associated process equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control system faults
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtimeConduct routine inspections to identify potential failures
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site maintenance management system

• Pumps and valves
• CIP systems
• Blending equipment
• Pipework and transfer systems
• Compressed air systems
• Process instrumentation

Essential Skills & Experience

• Recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship

Contract & Terms

• To be confirmed: whether engaged on standard temporary (weekly-paid, third-party) terms consistent with other temporary staff on site, or a semi-permanent contract with monthly pay (e.g. 6 months)
