Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer/Technician with a combined electrical and mechanical background to support planned and reactive maintenance across site process equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role focuses on minimising downtime through proactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and efficient use of the site maintenance management system. Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and experience in food, beverage, or FMCG sectors is essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / HNC or equivalent.
• Experience in food, beverage, dairy or FMCG manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and preventative maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance on process equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control system faults.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site maintenance management system.

Job Specification

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer/Technician with a combined electrical and mechanical background to support planned and reactive maintenance across site process equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime and maintaining operational efficiency within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on associated process equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control system faults
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential failures
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site maintenance management system

Process Equipment & Ancillaries

• Pumps and valves
• CIP systems
• Blending equipment
• Pipework and transfer systems
• Compressed air systems
• Process instrumentation

Essential Skills & Experience

• Recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship

Contract & Terms
