Job summary

United Plant Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer – Mobile to service and repair a wide range of small plant and ground care equipment across customer sites in Colchester. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and carry out planned maintenance while maintaining high safety and service standards.

The role requires an engineering or technical qualification, experience in similar field service, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining diesel, petrol, and electrically powered small plant, agricultural, and ground care equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Responding to breakdowns and restoring equipment to service efficiently.
• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) inspections and servicing activities.
• Delivering exceptional customer service and resolving customer queries professionally.
• Accurately recording all work electronically and ensuring required parts are ordered promptly.
• Maintaining your company vehicle to a high standard and ensuring appropriate stock levels are carried.
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships through reliable and professional service.
• Working in compliance with all customer, company, and health and safety procedures.

The Opportunity

As a Mobile Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping customer equipment operating safely and efficiently. Working independently across customer sites, you will service, maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of small plant, agricultural, and ground care equipment.
