Job summary

Zest is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Somerset. You will maintain and improve a range of production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring reliability and efficiency across the site.

The role offers a Monday-Friday shift pattern with no nights and opportunities to drive improvements, work with modern machinery, and develop technical skills in a supportive team. A strong engineering background and CMMS familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Engineering.
• Confident using CMMS systems.
• Background in the food sector (desirable).
• Experience with automated machinery.
• Strong diagnostic skills and effective corrective maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical & mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical maintenance of motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
• Electrical work on motors, sensors, valves, control gear, servos, instrumentation, power distribution and safety systems
• Fault-finding, root cause analysis and delivering effective fixes
• Selecting the right parts and coordinating with stores to maintain stock levels
• Suggesting improvements to boost uptime, safety and quality across the plant
• Providing technical support to operators and assisting with commissioning new equipment
• Maintaining control and weighing equipment

Position: Maintenance Engineer

Salary: 46,000 + Annual Bonus

Shift: Monday-Friday (Double Days)

Hours: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 - Early Friday finish (13:00/20:00)

Location: Somerset (Commutable from Yeovil, Wincanton, Shepton Mallet, Gillingham, Shaftesbury and surrounding areas)
