Job summary

Hunter Selection Ltd. is representing a market-leading food manufacturing business recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for Bridgwater site. You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance on a range of food manufacturing equipment, driving uptime and continuous improvement.

The role includes root cause analysis, installation support, and adherence to health and safety and industry standards. UK-based site with a 2 days / 2 nights 12-hour shift pattern and attractive salary and

Qualifications

  • Engineering apprenticeship completed or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of food manufacturing and production equipment.
  • Diagnosing faults and conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
  • Supporting production teams to maximise machinery uptime and operational efficiency.
  • Delivering preventative maintenance activities to minimise breakdowns.
  • Assisting with the installation, commissioning and optimisation of new equipment.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety and food industry regulations.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement projects across the site.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of food manufacturing and production equipment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience carrying out root cause analysis within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous food manufacturing experience would be advantageous, but not essential.
