A successful food manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Engineer

to join their team on a 4 on 4 off rotating Days & Nights shift pattern. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a profitable, stable, and growing business that continues to invest in its people, site, and brand.

As a Maintenance Engineer

you'll work alongside two other Engineers on shift to ensure safety compliance, effective workload prioritisation, and consistently high production standards. You'll play a key role in reducing downtime, improving processes, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead, guide and mentor your shift team to achieve operational excellence
  • Deliver effective maintenance to ensure consistent, high-quality production
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime
  • Monitor processes and equipment, reporting variances and taking corrective action
  • Respond swiftly to unplanned breakdowns and maintenance events
  • Support engineering projects, installations, and equipment modifications
Experience and skills required
  • Qualified Maintenance Engineer with City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3
  • Multi‑skilled with both mechanical and electrical expertise (electrical bias preferred)
  • Apprenticeship trained (ideally)
  • Proactive problem‑solver who supports production and continuous improvement
  • Experience in food manufacturing would be advantageous
