The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Maintenance Coordinator at TeesRep Biomass Plant in Middlesbrough.

In this role, you will work with Engineers & Planners to ensure safe, effective delivery & execution of weekly planned and high priority emerging maintenance, breakdown and project activities.

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, engage and manage assigned reports development, performance, welfare & delivery, being clear about outcomes, identifying ownership opportunities & giving clear direction & feedback to maximise performance.
• Contribute to the delivery and planned execution of the weekly maintenance schedule and high priority arising work, promoting ownership and delivery within the maintenance team, and ensuring timely daily updates.
• Manage & effectively & safely deliver planned maintenance, high priority arising work, breakdown responses, defects and project tasks, within the maintenance team. Adopt & deliver a continuous improvement ethos.
• Ensure the management and co-ordination of assigned contract staff delivering safe, effective execution of daily maintenance activities & to deliver performance & commercial targets.
• Setting to work, monitoring and auditing site 3rd party contract works from multidiscipline organisations.
• Ensure safe, effective workshop areas including equipment integrity and fitness for purpose, building warden responsibilities, van condition & servicing, machinery and equipment: lifting, testing & gauge reliability.
• Gain and maintain an appreciation of costings and budgets sufficient to enable good financial control & to assist in developing future budget spending.
• Contribute, to the development & improvement of maintenance procedures & instructions, and reporting of best practice and suggested ways forward.
• Understand and apply requirements of current standards and key legislation, including PSSR & HSAWA, and work to ensure full compliance.
• Assist the Operations team with out of hours call out technical support.
• Be fully conversant with TeesREP Safe Working and Control of Work Procedures, ensuring technicians adhere to and maintain competence in these standards.
• Positively & professionally portraying the role of Maintenance Lead to all. Complete required training and development activities to maintain and develop competence.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent apprentice served technician in a relevant discipline is required; HNC desirable.
• Successful hands-on contributions in a 24/7 industrial environment:
• Planning & coordinating manpower and maintenance activities in a multi-disciplined work scope – normal, breakdown & project.
• Methods, materials & equipment in servicing, repairing & maintenance.
• Implementing & evaluating improvements & mods.
• Building & maintaining client & contractor relationships.
• CMMS – updating & interrogating.
• Meeting targets & quality standards.
• Compiling reports Positive SHEQ commitment & contributions.
• Understanding & use of PTW, control of work & risk.
• Leading & managing a team – directly employed & contractor: workload planning, welfare, engagement & development.
