Job summary

Harbour Hotels in Salcombe seeks a Maintenance Assistant to keep our stylish Charm.

You will handle basic maintenance, painting to a high standard, and liaise with contractors and suppliers while prioritising Health & Safety. The role suits someone organized, detail-focused, and a proactive communicator within a team.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Plumbing, Electrics and Painting/Carpentry.
• Strong time management and clean work ethic.
• Able to work alone or as part of a team.
• Knowledge of pool/spa operations and Legionella testing.

Responsibilities

• Daily walk of the building and reporting to Duty Manager.
• General maintenance tasks, including painting.
• Attend morning and afternoon meetings.
• Regular checks (daily, weekly, monthly, annually) on all products.

The role…
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join the team. As Maintenance Assistant you will be confident in all basic maintenance skills. Painting and decorating to high standard is a big part of the job. You will need to have a keen eye for detail, be an effective communicator and possess excellent knowledge of Health & Safety regulations. Someone who is organised in their work and reacts quickly and effectively when required. Working as part of a team, you will be required to liaise directly with outsourced contractors and suppliers.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Daily walk of the building, Report to Duty Manager / Maintenance Manager.
• General Maintenance work i.e painting
• Attend morning & afternoon meetings
• Daily, Weekly, Monthly & Annual check on all products

Attributes / Experience

• Basic knowledge of Plumbing, Electrics and Painting and Decorating/ Carpentry
• Time Management and clean work ethics
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team
• Adaptability / Problem Solving.
• Knowledge of Pool/Spa
• Knowledge of Legionella Testing
