Job summary

Kew Green Hotels is seeking a practical and reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep of our Glasgow-area hotel. You’ll help ensure guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces are safe, functional and well presented.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll handle everyday maintenance tasks and assist with preventative programmes, safety checks and quick responses to issues, helping to deliver a high-quality guest experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance or similar hands-on role.
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, decorating or repairs.
• Proactive and practical approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Commitment to health, safety and compliance standards.
• Flexible to respond to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating and minor electrical work.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces.
• Support preventative maintenance programmes to ensure equipment and facilities remain in good working order.
• Conduct regular safety checks, including fire alarm testing and compliance checks.
• Identify and escalate any safety risks or defects promptly.
• Work collaboratively with all departments to support smooth hotel operations.

We’re looking for a practical and reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep of our hotel. You’ll play a key role behind the scenes, ensuring everything from guest rooms to public areas is well maintained, safe and fully operational.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll support both preventative and reactive maintenance, helping to deliver a high-quality environment that enhances the overall guest experience.
