Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a part-time maintenance worker for Millcourt School in Shelf, Yorkshire. You will handle general repairs, maintain school vehicles, and keep grounds tidy while engaging with young people in a supportive environment.

The role includes safeguarding training and a benefits package. This is a flexible, community-focused opportunity within a specialist SEND setting.

Qualifications

• Have some maintenance skills, either professionally or as a DIY enthusiast.
• Be a can-do team player who helps others.
• Willing to undertake Health & Safety and other relevant training.
• Confident taking responsibility for buying smaller maintenance equipment.

• Perform general, day-to-day repairs to keep the school running.
• Drive school vehicles and keep them in good working order.
• Keep school grounds and gardens neat and tidy.
• Receive on-the-job safeguarding training and apply it in practice.

Being a maintenance worker in our school means being part of something big. You’ll be doing your bit to make sure the school building is a great place to be for our young people.

Get out what you put in

You’ll do all the general, day-to-day repairs needed to keep our school up and running, drive the school vehicles and keep them in good working order, as well as making sure the school grounds and garden are kept neat and tidy. You’ll also be a familiar, friendly face, this means our young people will sometimes stop to chat to you so we’ll give you some training on child safeguarding to give you that extra confidence!
