Job summary

The Witherslack Group is seeking a maintenance worker for Queensmead House School in the UK. You will perform general repairs to keep the school buildings and facilities in good order, drive school vehicles, and maintain grounds and gardens. Training on safeguarding will be provided to help you support our young people.

Qualifications

  • Have some maintenance skills, either professionally or as a DIY enthusiast.
  • Experience in carpentry.
  • Experience with fire doors and fire door maintenance.
  • Experience with lock fitting and repairs.
  • Decorating skills.
  • Can-do attitude and team player.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out general, day-to-day repairs to keep the school running.
  • Drive school vehicles and keep them in good order.
  • Maintain school grounds and gardens.
  • Participate in safeguarding training.
  • Be a friendly, approachable presence for pupils.

Huge Small Victories Being a maintenance worker in our school means being part of something big. You’ll be doing your bit to make sure the school building is a great place to be for our young people.

Get out what you put in You’ll do all the general, day-to-day repairs needed to keep our school up and running, drive the school vehicles and keep them in good working order, as well as making sure the school grounds and garden are kept neat and tidy. You’ll also be a familiar, friendly face, this means our young people will sometimes stop to chat to you so we’ll give you some training on child safeguarding to give you that extra confidence!

  • Have some maintenance skills, either professionally or as a DIY enthusiast
