Job summary

Witherslack Group Ltd is hiring a part-time Maintenance Worker to keep our school facilities in excellent condition. The role involves general repairs, driving school vehicles, and keeping grounds tidy. Hours are negotiable for the right candidate, with opportunities for progression up to £31,022.

We welcome part-time applicants and offer excellent benefits. A DBS check is required, which we cover. You’ll join a supportive team dedicated to safeguarding and high standards of care for our pupils.

Qualifications

  • Have some maintenance skills, either professionally or as a DIY enthusiast.
  • ‘can do’ attitude – a team player who rolls up their sleeves to help others.
  • Be confident taking responsibility for buying smaller pieces of maintenance equipment and undertake relevant training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general, day-to-day repairs to keep the school up and running.
  • Drive the school vehicles and keep them in good working order.
  • Maintain school grounds and gardens, keeping them neat and tidy.

Huge Small Victories Being a maintenance worker in our school means being part of something big. You’ll be doing your bit to make sure the school building is a great place to be for our young people. Get out what you put in You’ll do all the general, day-to-day repairs needed to keep our school up and running, drive the school vehicles and keep them in good working order, as well as making sure the school grounds and garden are kept neat and tidy. You’ll also be a familiar, friendly face, this means our young people will sometimes stop to chat to you so we’ll give you some training on child safeguarding to give you that extra confidence!
