Job summary

St Richard's First School is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to join our team. This permanent, part-time role (5 hours per week) involves supervising children during lunch on school premises and assisting with dining area duties. The post supports safeguarding and the school’s nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising children during school lunches or play times.
• Ability to follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children on school premises and grounds during lunch periods.
• Assist with meal service and setting up/clearing away tables and dining area.
• Monitor behaviour and report concerns to the Headteacher or designated safeguarding lead.
• Ensure safety of children within the school grounds and buildings during lunch times.

We are seeking a lunchtime supervisor to join our team!

Main Purposes of Role:

To ensure, individually or as part of a team, the welfare and safety of all children remaining within school grounds or buildings during lunch times.

Key Accountabilities:

• To supervise children on school premises and grounds.
• To supervise children who use catering facilities at the school.
• To use initiative in monitoring events occurring on the school premises and grounds.
• To report any relevant matters or dangers to the Headteacher.
• To ensure a safe environment (e.g.by reporting broken glass to the Caretaker).
• To report any minor injuries to children to the designated person / administer first aid if appropriately trained (i.e.cuts, bruises).
• To help children partake of food when necessary.
• To undertake ancillary duties as necessary (i.e. setting up and clearing away tables, cleaning tables and dining area).
• To watch for intruders on the site during periods of duty.
