Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is seeking a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant for a Basildon primary school. This full-time, term-time position offers a supportive environment and the chance to make a real difference in a pupil's learning and wellbeing.

You will work closely with the SENCo and teachers to provide tailored, compassionate support and help the pupil develop socially and academically in a welcoming school community.

Responsibilities

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Basildon is seeking a committed 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs. The Role

As a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs throughout the school day.
• Help implement strategies and interventions set out by the school's SENCo and teaching staff.
• Encourage engagement, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child.
• Support emotional regulation, communication, and social development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the pupil.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, either in a school or similar setting.
• A patient, nurturing, and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to remain calm and adaptable in different situations.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
