Job summary

Balyasny Asset Management L.P. is seeking a Trading Platform Engineer to join the Systematic Technology team, focused on reliability, observability, and day-to-day support of a high-performance, low-latency trading platform in production.

You will collaborate with trading, Quantitative Researchers, and developers to keep the platform stable and responsive to front-office needs, driving incident response, automation, and robust monitoring across the stack.

Qualifications

• Experience in production engineering, SRE, or application support in real-time or trading environments.
• Strong monitoring, observability, alerting, incident management, and RCA skills.
• Scripting or automation experience in Python or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support for a high-performance, low-latency trading platform in a live trading environment.
• Monitor system health, workflows, and platform behavior to ensure reliability.
• Respond to production incidents, drive triage and resolution across teams.
• Support front-office users by investigating issues and answering workflow questions.
• Own and improve monitoring, alerting, telemetry, and dashboards across the platform.
• Develop automation, runbooks, and operational tools to reduce risk.
• Perform root cause analysis on production issues and drive follow-up actions.
• Support release processes, change management, and controlled rollouts.
• Monitor data quality, platform behavior, and workflow exceptions across processes.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve recoverability, observability, and readiness.
• Help define and maintain operational standards and production controls.
