Job summary

Philosophy Education, Ltd. Edgware is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with Autism and SEMH needs within a mainstream primary setting.

You will adapt learning activities and work closely with the class teacher and SEND team. The role requires confident use of positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques to support emotional regulation and progress.

Qualifications

• Previous SEND experience with Autism and SEMH.
• Calm, patient approach to behaviours that challenge with de-escalation.
• Experience planning and adapting learning activities for individual needs.
• Experience supporting pupils in Year 2 or Year 3.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with Autism and SEMH needs.
• Plan and adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Support academic, social and emotional development.
• Use de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour management.
• Collaborate with class teacher, SENDCo and school SEND team.
• Encourage independence, resilience, and engagement in learning.
