Job summary

Uniform Education is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with autism on a 1:1 basis at a one-form entry primary school in Borehamwood. The role is in the afternoons, Monday to Friday, with start date in September 2026.

Pay is £14–£16.92 per hour, and the candidate will work closely with the class teacher to help the child access learning and stay engaged. Successful applicants will be patient, calm, and reliable, with experience supporting children with SEND/autism and

SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Year 3

Location: Borehamwood, WD6

School: One-form entry mainstream primary school

Pay: £14-£16.92 per hour

Start Date: September 2026

Hours: Monday-Friday, 1:15pm-3:15pm, can be flexible for a 12:45pm start or 3pm finish

We are seeking a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 child with autism on a 1:1 basis at a welcoming, one-form entry mainstream primary school in Borehamwood.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an SEN TA who enjoys providing focused, individualised support and helping children access and engage with their learning.

The Role

You will work closely with a Year 3 pupil with autism, providing 1:1 support throughout the afternoon. The child has no behavioural issues and requires support primarily with accessing learning, staying engaged and developing independence within the classroom.

You will work alongside the class teacher and wider school team to ensure the pupil is fully included in classroom activities and receives the appropriate support to make progress.

Key Responsibilities
