An outstanding two-form entry primary school in Edgware is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding long-term opportunity, with the role continuing until July 2026.
You will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 3 with Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The pupil accesses the mainstream curriculum with the right support but can become dysregulated at times and may display behaviours that are physically challenging. The successful candidate will be confident in using positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques to help the pupil regulate their emotions and re-engage with learning.
This role is ideal for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who is confident planning and adapting learning to meet individual needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to provide consistent, nurturing support and help the pupil make excellent progress.
The pupil speaks Turkish, so applicants who speak Turkish would be at an advantage, although this is not essential.
