Job summary

IWFM is seeking an experienced Assistant Facilities Operations Manager to lead soft FM services across multiple London campuses. The role requires a hands-on leader who can drive service excellence, manage budgets and supplier performance, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

You will oversee front-of-house, cleaning, grounds, catering and campus support, deputise for the Facilities Operations Manager, and participate in duty manager rotations for events and critical

Qualifications

• Experience in Facilities Management or Soft FM across campuses or large estates.
• Proven leadership of multi-site teams with a hands-on, practical approach.
• Strong track record of managing budgets, contracts and suppliers.
• Ability to monitor KPIs and SLAs and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Facilities teams across Soft FM services (Front of House, Cleaning, Grounds, Waste, Portering, Catering and Campus Support).
• Ensure services meet agreed standards, KPIs and SLAs.
• Manage contractor and supplier performance with regular reviews and audits.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and respond to operational requirements.
• Conduct service inspections and monitor performance to drive improvement.
• Support budget management and value for money across services.
• Champion health, safety and compliance across all areas.
• Deputise for the Facilities Operations Manager when required.
• Participate in a Duty Manager rota for campus operations and events.
