Job summary

Placr Recruitment in Steyning, West Sussex seeks a Logistics and Shipping Coordinator to manage orders from receipt through dispatch, liaise with customers, suppliers and hauliers, and coordinate imports/exports and stock control.

The role covers goods in and out, packing, and accurate documentation, using ERP/MRP systems, with a focus on accuracy, speed and compliance. Monday to Friday, permanent, full-time with a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication with customers and suppliers.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 / Office.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of a hands-on logistics role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate orders from receipt through dispatch and delivery.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, hauliers and transport companies to ensure orders and deliveries run smoothly.
• Provide customers with updates on deliveries, collections and order requirements.
• Coordinate the receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of materials and finished goods.
• Prepare shipments to meet customer packaging, labelling and presentation requirements.
• Manage import and export documentation, ensuring shipments comply with customs and relevant legislation.
• Assist with customs clearance and ensure accurate shipping information is provided.
• Complete goods-in checks, validation and system updates.
• Maintain accurate stock records, stock rotation and FIFO.
• Load and unload deliveries using a counterbalance forklift and other material-handling equipment.
• Support production with the supply of raw materials and packaging.
• Maintain accurate logistics records using ERP/MRP and Microsoft Office systems.
• Work with the Logistics Manager to maximise warehouse space and plan future capacity.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety, housekeeping and security.
• Monitor and maintain accurate records for waste and recycling.
