Placr Recruitment is recruiting for a Logistics and Shipping Coordinator to join an established manufacturing business in Henfield. This is a varied, customer-focused logistics role covering customer orders, imports and exports, goods in and out, stock control, dispatch and materials handling.
You'll play an important role in ensuring customer orders are processed accurately, deliveries are organised efficiently and all import/export documentation is completed correctly.

The Role
- Coordinate customer orders from receipt through to dispatch and delivery.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, hauliers and transport companies to ensure orders and deliveries run smoothly.
- Provide customers with updates on deliveries, collections and order requirements.
- Coordinate the receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of materials and finished goods.
- Prepare shipments to meet customer packaging, labelling and presentation requirements.
- Manage import and export documentation, ensuring shipments comply with customs and relevant legislation.
- Assist with customs clearance and ensure accurate shipping information is provided.
- Complete goods-in checks, validation and system updates.
- Maintain accurate stock records, stock rotation and FIFO.
- Load and unload deliveries using a counterbalance forklift and other material-handling equipment.
- Support production with the supply of raw materials and packaging.
- Maintain accurate logistics records using ERP/MRP and Microsoft Office systems.
- Work with the Logistics Manager to maximise warehouse space and plan future capacity.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, housekeeping and security.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records for waste and recycling.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an organised and proactive logistics professional who is comfortable dealing with customers and external suppliers as well as managing day-to-day warehouse activities.
You should have strong attention to detail, particularly when dealing with customer requirements, stock records and import/export paperwork.
Essential:
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Confident dealing with customers, suppliers and transport providers
- Good organisational and multitasking skillsConfident using Microsoft 365 / Office
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to work under pressure and use your own initiative
- Physically capable of carrying out a hands-on logistics role
Desirable:
- Experience in imports and exports
- Knowledge of customs procedures and documentation
- Counterbalance forklift licence/experience
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems
- Previous manufacturing, logistics or supply chain experience
