Job description

As a Logistics Co-ordinator & Load Builder , you will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. Based on our customer site, the main purpose of your role will be to create UK road loads for our customer, Tata Steel, in their SAP system and ensure that delivery plans are met and loads are optimised for payload and cost.

Location: Newport

Hours per week: Full-time

Salary: £27,000-£31,000 (depending on experience)

Key responsibilities
  • Plan loads for UK road movements to all delivery points, effectively managing urgent requests and ensuring timely delivery
  • Provide detailed information on planned loads to customer services and promptly respond to any queries, including managing and resolving any issues in planning
  • Maximise payloads by selecting the best combination of goods, including identifying opportunities for multi-drops
  • Maintain close communication with customers and suppliers to ensure a smooth operation
  • Prepare and manage documentation to facilitate efficient customer returns
  • Ensure all information in the system is accurate and updated as required
  • Deputise for Despatch Planning and Road Scheduling Team Leader as appropriate
Your profile
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, including ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Previous experience in a logistics role would be preferred
  • Experience with SAP (desirable but not essential as full training will be provided)
  • Good IT skills (including Microsoft Office)
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Knowledge of UK geography and H&S knowledge and awareness would be an advantage
