Job summary

Ocado Logistics in the UK is seeking an Area Manager to lead, motivate and support an operational team at the Erith site. You will ensure high health and safety standards, drive employee engagement, and deliver KPIs in a dynamic 24/7 environment.

This role involves 12.5-hour shifts starting at 05:00 or 17:00, 4 on 4 off, with responsibilities across safety investigations, training, performance management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in warehousing/logistics.
• Solid Health & Safety knowledge and practices.
• Strong communication and numerical data interpretation skills.
• Experience with disciplinary and grievance investigations.
• Familiarity with computerised warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced, 24/7 warehouse environment with focus on safety and conduct.
• Promote a positive safety culture and complete adverse event investigations.
• Drive training, coaching and manage key people KPIs like turnover and absence.
• Monitor performance, maintain housekeeping and ensure adherence to food safety measures.
• Report on area KPI metrics and lead pre-shift briefings.
