Qualifications

  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Experience managing pharmacy department functions.
  • Ability to conduct patient medication assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate hospital pharmacy functions.
  • Oversee and develop allocated staff.
  • Conduct assessments for medication compliance.
  • Promote best clinical practices.
  • Train and assess others against competency standards.
  • Liaise with medical and social staff for medicines reconciliation.
  • Participate in initial medication assessments.
  • Handle contained medicines daily.

Skills

Registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC
Previous NHS or hospital experience

Education

Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians
Equivalent qualification (e.g., NVQ/BTEC/apprenticeship)
