Job summary

Locum Ready in the United Kingdom is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Sherborne. You will assist clinical staff with routine procedures, patient flow and day-to-day treatment room activity.

The role offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions, morning or afternoon availability, and potential long-term block bookings within a structured primary care environment.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
