Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Sherborne. You will assist with routine clinical duties, patient observations and day-to-day treatment room activity to ensure smooth sessions.

Responsibilities include performing observations (BP, pulse, temperature, SpO2), phlebotomy where trained, ECGs, patient assessments and updating records in the clinical system. Enhanced DBS is required; ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions are available.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Healthcare Assistant in primary care or NHS settings.
• Ability to carry out routine clinical duties under supervision.
• Comfort with basic IT tasks and documenting in clinical systems.

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum HCA to work for a GP practice in Sherborne. This position is suited to a proactive Healthcare Assistant who can support the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will be part of an organised primary care environment where you will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery. The practice offers strong support and clear guidance to ensure every session runs smoothly.

Requirements

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS
• Phlebotomy experience desirable
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations
• Good communication and patient interaction skills
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation
• Enhanced DBS
