Job summary

Locum Ready is recruiting a Locum Health Care Assistant to work for a GP practice in Weymouth. This role supports the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity in a proactive primary care setting.

You will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery, with ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions and morning or afternoon availability.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Enhanced DBS (DBS check) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Support with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
