Part Time Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist

1 year maternity cover locum post

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1 year (0.6WTE) maternity locum Consultant Gastroenterologist post in NHS Tayside.

The successful applicant will join a cohesive group of consultant colleagues who deliver acute inpatient luminal and hepatology services from a dedicated Gastroenterology ward. We also deliver a busy outpatient service and are supported by IBD, Hepatology and Nutrition Nurse Specialists. NHS Tayside delivers endoscopy from 2 endoscopy suites (Ninewells and Perth Royal Infirmary) including 7‑day a week emergency endoscopy, BCSP and Advanced endoscopy including EUS, ERCP, UGI EMR and colonic EMR. We have a strong academic reputation with national and international experts in both IBD and hepatology.

The successful applicant will deliver inpatient IBD ward work on a 1:5 rotational basis. There is no on‑call nor weekend activity associated with this post. Non‑ward working weeks will involve a mix of General Gastroenterology Clinics and Endoscopy lists (colonoscopy and gastroscopy).

You must be registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practice.

Applicants must be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT or already in possession of CESR (CP) at the date of interview for the post.
