Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking an IT Support Officer for a 3-month contract to provide first-line IT support across Rochford District Council in Essex. You will work within the Digital, Data & Technology team to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and support Microsoft-based technologies.

Role requires customer-focused service desk capabilities and strong communication skills to maintain effective IT services in a busy government environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support to end users.
• Respond to service desk incidents and requests.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system issues.
• Deliver excellent customer service and technical support.
• Support Microsoft technologies and cloud-based services.
• Configure, deploy, and decommission IT equipment.
• Maintain and update IT assets and records.
• Escalate complex technical issues when required.
• Assist with user account administration and system access.
• Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, and peripheral issues.
• Assist with software installations and updates.
• Work collaboratively with Technical Analysts and the wider IT team.
• Maintain accurate service desk records and documentation.
