Job summary

Canonical is seeking a London-based Linux and cloud support engineer to own the office tech and run live production at events. You’ll manage AV, meeting spaces, and demos, and support customers from first contact to resolution.

You bring hands-on Linux experience, curiosity for AV systems, and calm under pressure during live events. Exceptional English communication and a track record of helping teams and customers are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and spoken English, and the ability to explain technical complexity clearly and warmly.
• An undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about an alternative path.
• A builder's streak: something you've set up or run for others on a deadline (home lab, hackspace, live sound, school IT).
• AV curiosity: interest in audio, video and live production, or a clear appetite to learn it.
• Composure under pressure and a track record of going above and beyond for teams or customers.
• Hands-on experience supporting Linux systems, plus virtualization or cloud, containers, storage, or networking.
• Troubleshooting mindset (logs, stack traces, OS/app causes) and basic programming in any language.

Responsibilities

• Own the office technology state (network, devices, meeting spaces, AV).
• Run technology for events and customer demos from setup to tear-down.
• Manage end-to-end customer cases via tickets, remote sessions, and live support.
• Understand Ubuntu development processes to give customers realistic timelines.
• Write and maintain knowledge base articles to share lessons learned.
