Job summary

Evri in Gloucester, United Kingdom, is seeking a professional HGV driver on a permanent contract to join our nightshift operations. You will operate a modern Volvo tractor unit, perform daily vehicle inspections and complete defect reports, and plan routes within the night trunking schedule.

The role offers a 45-hour week, typical 9-hour shifts from 5/6pm, and home-time between shifts. Benefits include generous annual leave and flexible perks.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence is required.
• DCPC training hours completed or currently being pursued.
• Excellent knowledge of road transport laws and safe road use.

Responsibilities

• Trunking to regional hubs on the night shift and planning own routes.
• Drive a lorry from our fleet ensuring on-time delivery.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and complete a Defect Report when needed.
• Handle loading/unloading at sites where required and operate pallet trucks as needed.

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.?Theyre?a joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sure?youre?comfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and?9-hour?shifts per day which typically start at?5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where?youll?be driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

We?dont?micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.?This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

Youll?make sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,?youll?need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

Youll?be responsible for?inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
