Evri Group is hiring for a permanent night-shift driver based in Peterborough. You’ll operate a modern Volvo lorry, with 9-hour night shifts and 45-hour weeks, ensuring on-time delivery to UK and international destinations.
Expect a supportive team, planned schedules, and opportunities to grow within a leading parcel network. You will be responsible for route planning, safe loading/unloading, daily vehicle checks and documenting any defects.
Evri Group is the UK’s premier parcel delivery business, uniting four distinct brands—Evri, Evri Premium, a network of DHL, UK Mail and Irish e-commerce specialist Coll-8—to deliver more than 1 billion parcels and letters annually across the UK and to over 200 global destinations. With 12,000 colleagues, 30,000 couriers and drivers, 8,000 vehicles, and a nationwide network of hubs, depots and fulfilment centres, we combine over 50 years of expertise with the scale and flexibility to support everyone from casual senders to SMEs and major retailers.
ContractType: Permanent - 45 hours weekly
Location: Peterborough
Shift: Nights / 17.00‑03.00 M/F & 19.00‑05.00 Sun/Thu
You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old. They’re a joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leather seats and many more optional extras to make sure you’re comfortable.
Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45‑hour working weeks, and 9‑hour shifts per day which typically start at 5/6 pm. Our well‑organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where you’ll be driving, taking the stress out of your day.
We don’t micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.
You’ll make sure cages, pallets, freight, stillages and yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you – at others, you’ll need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.
You’ll be responsible for inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a defect report if necessary.
We’re proud to offer a workplace where everyone can thrive. Here’s what you can expect:
Annual Leave: At least 28 days of annual leave (including Bank Holidays).
Inclusive benefits: Access to flexible perks including shopping vouchers, insurance and healthcare.
We’re committed to building a truly inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone can bring – and be – their whole authentic selves. We’re on a journey to better represent the customers we serve around the UK. We’re committed to removing barriers and ensuring each person at Evri Premium is valued for who they are, and what they bring to our business.
We’re also on a mission to be the UK’s most accessible delivery business. We’ve partnered with Scope, the leading disability equality charity, to improve deliveries for millions of customers and give extra support to our colleagues and couriers who need it.
Collaboration is key because we work better together. Bring passion, ambition and an open mind, and in return we’ll give you respect, flexibility and a place where you can thrive.
Evri Group for everyone
