Job summary

Evri in Slough is hiring a Class 1 HGV Driver for night trunking with a modern Volvo fleet, offering a 45-hour week and 9-hour shifts. You’ll work Mon-Fri, usually starting around 5–6pm, and be home for each 9-hour cycle. The role includes inspecting the vehicle, occasional loading, and scanning consignments.

You should hold a Class 1 driving licence and Driver CPC, with DCPC hours completed or in progress. Expect an autonomous but supported role with reliable routes and consistent hours.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence is a must.
• Driver CPC qualification card required.
• Completed required DCPC training hours or actively working toward them.

Responsibilities

• Trunk goods to regional hubs on the night shift with independence on the open road.
• Return home after every 9-hour shift, with shifts typically starting around 5/6pm.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and complete a Defect Report if needed.
• Occasionally load/unload goods; scan consignments and operate pallet trucks when required.

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
