Job summary

Evri is seeking an HGV Driver - Class 1 Linehaul for our Docklands operation. You will drive a near-new Volvo truck, on a night rota with 45 hours per week and shifts arranged between 3:30 PM and 8:30 PM. Expect trunking to regional hubs and time home after each 9-hour shift.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence required.
• Driver CPC qualification card.
• DCPC training hours completed or in progress.
• Excellent knowledge of road transport laws and safety.

Responsibilities

• Drive a lorry from a modern Volvo fleet.
• Trunk to regional hubs on the night shift.
• Load/unload at sites as required and scan consignments.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily; raise defect reports.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

• Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.
• You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.
• You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
