Job summary

Evri Group is seeking an experienced Class 1 driver for a permanent night-shift role in Preston. You will operate a modern Volvo, joining a nationwide parcel network with shifts 21:00–07:00, Mon–Fri.

You will trunk goods to regional hubs, perform routine checks, and handle scanning and potential loading/unloading. Expect predictable 9-hour shifts, 45 hours weekly, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Class 1 driving licence required.
• Completed DCPC training hours or actively working toward them.
• Excellent knowledge of road transport laws and safe driving practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Volvo tractor unit on the night shift, trunking to regional hubs.
• Perform pre-trip checks, scan consignments and assist with loading/unloading when needed.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and complete defect reports when necessary.

What You’ll Do

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
