Evri in Runcorn is seeking a permanent HGV Class 1 Driver. You will operate a modern Volvo truck on a 45-hour week, Monday to Friday, with paid hours and a daily unpaid break. The role focuses on trunking to regional hubs on the night shift with independent route planning and safe, timely deliveries.

You may be loading or unloading at sites, scanning consignments, and using pallet trucks. Daily vehicle checks and defect reporting are required.

Competenze

• Valid Category C+E/Class 1 driving licence is essential.
• Driver CPC qualification required.
• Knowledge of road transport laws and safety practices.
• Willingness to complete DCPC training hours where applicable.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old. They’re a joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leather seats and many more optional extras to make sure you’re comfortable.

The role is based on 45 paid hours per week, typically worked as 9 paid hours per day, Monday to Friday, with an additional 1-hour unpaid break each day.

Key Role Responsibilities

We don't micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - this is the job for you.

You’ll make sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others, you'll need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’ll be responsible for inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
