Job summary

The Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Information Manager for Integrated Laboratory Medicine on a two-year secondment, reporting to the Information Manager. The role supports diagnostics across the Trust and partner sites to sustain high-quality clinical care.

You will develop service support processes, manage incident and change control, maintain the LIMS, and contribute to KPIs and business continuity, working with IT leads and a cross-directorate team.

Qualifications

• Higher degree/Masters in computer programming, systems analysis, development or systems engineering.
• Prince 2 Foundation certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day management of the LIMS system.
• Maintain and develop the LIMS to ensure optimum availability.
• Minimise day-to-day disruption and downtime.
• Collaborate with IT Service Management to improve incident and problem management and business continuity.
• Train and support Department IT Leads in the absence of the ILM Information Manager.
• Support the Department IT Leads in management of department IT systems.
• Coordinate training and development for staff.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary, cross-directorate technical support team.
• Perform other duties and undertake special projects as required.
