Job summary

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Pathology IT Manager (Band 7) to support the Laboratory IT Manager and maintain a high quality service within pathology. This permanent, full-time post (37.5 hours per week) is based at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, with a salary between £49,387 and £56,515 per annum pro rata.

Responsibilities

• To provide IT support across Laboratory medicine, covering clinical and non-clinical lab systems and first line IT equipment support.
• To manage, develop, maintain, and train users for Pathology and Hospital systems including Telepath, Review, tQuest, Keystone, DAWN, Blood Track, Roche Vantage and Sectra Digital Pathology.
• To be a member of the Directorate team, providing policies and procedures meeting ISO 15189 accreditation and guidelines within National programme for IT.
• To represent the department at meetings or strategy groups and support decision-making on behalf of the department.
• To monitor standards of service in line with the National plan, local requirements, activity and financial targets.
• To produce monthly statistics covering Pathology departmental workloads.
• To undertake project work as required by the department and support delivery of the corporate agenda.
• To manage stock control of IT consumables and equipment within the department and be responsible for IT Asset management.
• To be responsible for regular data archiving of the Laboratory information system to ensure data integrity and validity.
• To support the production of business cases for service developments as directed by senior Pathology management.
• To manage ward-order communications for Laboratory medicine.
