Job summary

Davies is seeking a Limitation File Handler in Bolton within the Legal department. You will manage MOJ/OICP limitation cases, ensuring court deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality case handling and client communication.

You will work with insurers and internal teams, drafting statements, coordinating with Counsel, and keeping case management systems up to date as part of a supportive, progression-focused unit.

Responsibilities

• Independent management of a caseload of MOJ and OICP limitation, including planning workload to meet court deadlines.
• Deliver agreed performance targets and quality standards.
• Analyse evidence to create initial case strategy on quantum.
• Negotiate with client, Defendant, insurer and third party solicitors for appropriate settlements and cost apportionment.
• Proof witnesses, assess evidence and draft statements.
• Draft court documents and comply with deadlines.
• Instruct, brief and liaise with Counsel.
• Undertake court telephone hearings to maximise progress.
• Maintain case management, billing and MI systems accurately for records and decisions.
• Delegate tasks where appropriate and supervise others as needed.
• Handle correspondence and calls within SLAs.
• Update reports on evidence as received and required.
• Follow Client Guidelines and provide written updates to clients.
