Davies in Bolton is seeking a Small Claims Track Specialist NDA File Handler within our Legal department. The role handles motor litigation cases up to £150k, progressing files from service through resolution and supporting insurers as Defendants.

The position offers clear progression pathways and full induction training. It is suitable for experienced Small Claims Litigators or portal litigators transitioning to more technical litigation work, with opportunities for development within the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in law through education or experience.
• File handling experience in a law practice or insurer.
• Understanding of the highway code and road traffic act principles.
• Ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of Small Claims Track cases with attention to Court deadlines.
• Deliver agreed performance targets and quality standards.
• Analyse evidence to create initial case strategy on liability and quantum.
• Conduct telephone discussions and negotiations with clients, Defendants and insurers to pursue settlements.
• Proof witnesses and draft statements for Court proceedings.
• Draft Court documents and ensure deadlines are met.
• Instruct and liaise with Counsel as needed.
• Guide Defendants through the litigation process and set expectations.
• Maintain case management, billing and MIS records accurately.
