Job summary

WSP Lighting and Energy Solutions (L&ES) is seeking Lighting Engineers at various levels to support Local Government and Strategic Road Network projects across the UK. You will design, document and co-ordinate lighting schemes from concept to construction, engaging with manufacturers and contractors.

You will join a growing team with opportunities for CPD, advanced training, and professional mentorship within a global network of lighting specialists.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Lighting Reality or Dialux and AutoCAD for design layouts.
• Understanding of external lighting standards, guidance, legislation and regulations.
• Experience from conception to issue for construction in lighting design.
• Ability to coach junior team members and work independently or in a team.
• Experience in Local Government or Strategic Road Network sectors.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed design layouts and drawings with documentation.
• Prepare feasibility studies, option reports and specifications.
• Engage with luminaire, column, controls and electrical manufacturers.
• Coordinate with contractors and respond to RFIs/TQs.
• Conduct site visits to support lighting assessments and drawings.
• Contribute to project proposals and track milestones and budgets.
• Maintain relationships with Local Authority and SRN clients.
• Provide expert guidance and liaise with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in professional development.
