Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Lighting Engineer to join our Lighting & Energy Solutions team in the UK. You will lead lighting design, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, liaise with clients and authorities, and contribute to technical proposals and project delivery.

You will mentor junior staff, engage with manufacturers, and ensure solutions align with regulations, budgets and schedules. A hybrid working setup and CPD opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Proficient in lighting design from concept through construction.
• Strong knowledge of external lighting standards and regulations.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and communicating with stakeholders.
• Understanding of central management systems and lighting maintenance operations.
• Experience in Local Government or Strategic Road Network sectors is desirable.
• Eng Tech registration with Engineering Council and progress toward IEng.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Lighting & Energy Solutions team and clients on projects.
• Produce detailed design layouts, drawings and support documentation.
• Prepare feasibility reports, option studies and specifications.
• Coordinate with luminaire, column and electrical manufacturers.
• Support with site visits, RFIs and TQs and programme milestones.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to business development.
