Job summary

thyssenkrupp Elevator is seeking a Field Trainer - New Installations to deliver practical on-site training, audits and technical support across the UK. You will work with installation teams to improve competence and ensure safe, quality handovers of lift projects.

Reporting to the Head of New Installations Operations, you will mentor apprentices, conduct audits, promote best practice and travel extensively to support projects and training initiatives throughout the UK.

Qualifications

• VQ Level 3 in Lift Installation required.
• Extensive experience in lift installation, testing and commissioning.
• Strong technical knowledge of lift systems and commissioning procedures.
• Ability to coach and develop installation personnel on site.
• Experience with workforce competency development and best practice.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication. Good health, safety, and quality awareness.
• Willingness to travel UK; full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on-site training and coaching on lift installation methods and commissioning procedures.
• Train fitters and subcontractors on installation methodology and commissioning activities, including achieving nominal speed operation.
• Assess workforce competency and identify development requirements.
• Mentor apprentices and installation personnel to enhance technical capability.
• Support accreditation and certification programmes and promote best practice across the New Installations business.
• Conduct installation audits to verify compliance with approved methods, quality standards and safety requirements.
• Identify non-conformances and opportunities for improvement across installation projects.
• Produce audit reports and support project teams in implementing corrective actions.
• Monitor audit trends and provide feedback to management for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to New Installation project teams.
• Respond to fault-finding, commissioning activities and technical problem resolution.
• Support project managers, supervisors and installation teams in overcoming technical challenges.
• Escalate complex issues and help implement permanent solutions.
• Promote sharing of technical knowledge and best practices across the business.
• Champion health, safety and quality standards across all projects.
• Travel extensively throughout the UK to support teams, training and audits.
