Global Sports Jobs Limited is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to join the Operations Team at our club in Ashford. The role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming environment, ensuring poolside safety, cleanliness and great member experience.

You'll respond confidently to situations, perform safety checks, monitor water quality and maintain high standards across the club. The position offers 20 hours per week with a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard qualification and full registration (RLSS/STA/HABC) required.
• Friendly, calm and approachable; able to respond quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities

About the Role

This role sits within the Operations Team and is offered on a part-time basis of 20 hours per week. It plays a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for members, ensuring the highest standards of poolside safety, cleanliness and member experience. The post holder acts as a trusted ambassador for the club, responding confidently to situations, maintaining operational excellence and delivering exceptional service every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for members.
• Ensure the highest standards of poolside safety, cleanliness and member experience.
• Act as a trusted ambassador for the club, responding confidently to situations.
• Maintain operational excellence and deliver exceptional service every day.
• Ensure the utmost safety of members in the pool and spa areas, taking responsibility for personal safety and that of others.
• Act consistently in a safe manner, completing safety checks and recording them accurately.
• Monitor water chemical levels and clean the water when appropriate.
• Maintain the cleanliness of all areas and adhere to Virgin Active's high standards.
• Comply with all mandatory training and health and safety requirements.
• Fulfil Duty Shifts when required, taking responsibility and accountability during the shift and managing staffing and facility issues throughout the club.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• A friendly, calm and approachable nature, with the ability to act quickly and effectively at all times.
• A current Lifeguard qualification and full registration, with either an IQL National Pool Qualification (RLSS), HABC Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding (RQF) or STA Professional Award for Pool Lifeguard (RQF).

Salary

£13.25—£13.25 GBP
