Essex County Council is seeking a Customer Services Assistant for Brentwood and Shenfield libraries on a fixed-term contract. The part-time role is 18.5 hours per week with a pro rata salary of £12,979 per annum.

You will support book circulation, signpost customers to services, and help deliver stories to children in a welcoming library environment. Your duties include everyday customer assistance, stock management, and participation in promotional activities while upholding health and safety

Formación

• IT systems knowledge or ability to learn
• Customer service experience in any area
• Confident speaking to customers and signposting to library services and Council services

Responsabilidades

• Help customers with book circulation and issuing
• Deliver story and rhyme sessions to parents and toddlers
• Support with stock circulation and shelving, handling reservations and memberships
• Signpost customers to different services and partner organisations
• Assist customers to use the library catalogue and learn the full library offer
• Help with promotional activities to generate income across libraries
• Be mindful of health & safety and help sort issues
• Unlocking/locking up as required and act as a trusted keyholder
