Job summary

Worcestershire County Council Libraries are recruiting a Library Customer Advisor for the Redditch cluster, covering Redditch, Alvechurch, Wythall and Woodrow libraries. The role is diverse, involves helping customers access resources and services, and includes digital one-to-one support as well as leading events for children and adults.

Working hours are on a rota basis and include Saturdays. If you enjoy delivering excellent customer service in a busy, welcoming environment, we’d like to hear

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service or retail is beneficial.
  • Willingness to work as part of a rota including Saturdays.
  • Ability to engage customers and provide helpful service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide digital one-to-one support to library users.
  • Help customers access a wide range of resources and services.
  • Lead events and activities such as songs or storytelling sessions for children.
  • Run online activity groups for adults and support remote access to services.

4.5 hours, Saturday role

The Role:

Worcestershire Libraries are recruiting. We have a vacancy in the Redditch Cluster working across Redditch, Alvechurch, Wythall and Woodrow libraries. The role is diverse, exciting and no two days are the same. You will help our customers access a wide range of resources and services. A typical day could see you provide digital one to one support, lead events and activities such as a song or storytelling session for children or an online activity group for adults. Expect to learn something new every day in a fast-paced customer focused environment.

You will need to be enthusiastic, energetic and flexible with excellent customer service skills. A will to find an answer to whatever question is asked is key.

You may have a background in retail, community, education, early years or library work - but whatever your experience, your understanding of the customer will be crucial. If you enjoy working with people, thrive on providing excellent customer service and you would like to be part of an innovative and enthusiastic team, then we would like to hear from you.

Working hours are based on a rota and include Saturdays.
