Job summary

BOC Limited, a Linde company, Immingham-based role for an LGV Class 2 ADR Cylinder Driver. You will manage nationwide deliveries of Special Gas drums and ensure vehicle readiness and compliance.

This position requires an HGV Cat C licence, CPC, and ideally ADR Class 2; strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and customer interaction. Expect long-distance trips and dedicated overnight stays as part of the role.

Qualifications

• HGV/Cat C licence is required.
• CPC qualification is required.
• ADR Class 2 in packages desirable; training may be provided.
• Defensive driving and knowledge of driver regulations.
• Ability to interact with customers.
• LGV entitlement held for at least 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring roadworthiness, safekeeping and cleanliness of the allocated vehicle.
• Completing daily pre-use inspection checks for the vehicle and any specialised equipment required as part of daily operations.
• Operating specialist equipment such as forklift trucks or cranes for loading/unloading; apply defensive driving and comply with driver regulations.
• Undertaking nationwide deliveries of Special Gas drums to customers across the UK, with long-distance driving and overnight stays.
• Planning and managing journeys to meet customer requirements while complying with driver hours and working time regulations.
• Adhering to Health & Safety procedures and operational standards at all times.

What you will enjoy doing

• Ensuring the roadworthiness, safekeeping and cleanliness of the allocated vehicle.
• Completing daily pre-use inspection checks for the vehicle and any specialised equipment required as part of daily operations.
• Operating specialist BOC equipment, such as forklift trucks or cranes, where required for loading and unloading activities. Applying defensive driving techniques and maintaining compliance with commercial driving regulations to ensure the safe transportation and delivery of Special Gas drums.
• Undertaking nationwide deliveries of Special Gas drums to customers across the UK, involving long-distance driving and regular overnight tramping.
• Planning and managing journeys effectively to meet customer requirements while maintaining compliance with driver hours and working time regulations.
• Adhering to strict Health & Safety procedures and operational standards at all times.

What makes you great

• You are holding an HGV/LGV Cat C licence
• ADR (Class 2 in packages) desirable and training will be provided where appropriate
• A driver CPC is required
• Knowledge of Defensive driving and Driver Regulations, including HSA regulations
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers
• Having a high level of personal integrity suits to your profile
• Have held the LGV entitlement for a minimum of 2 years, for insurance purposes
