Job summary

BOC Limited, a Linde company, is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair mechanical and cryogenic systems across our vehicle fleet. You will perform planned and defect maintenance to high standards, ensuring safety inspections are completed and properly recorded.

In this role you will coordinate with approved contractors for specialist services and support the workshop during peak periods, while upholding health, safety and environment policies.

Qualifications

  • Time-served as a HGV Technician with NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proven fleet maintenance experience with ability to prioritise tasks in a small team.
  • Skilled in scheduled servicing, safety inspections, diagnostics and defect rectification of ADR vehicles and trailers.
  • Strong technical problem solving and workload planning abilities.
  • Excellent computer literacy including Windows, Outlook, SAP, and access to diagnostic platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair mechanical and cryogenic systems across our vehicle fleet.
  • Carry out planned and defect maintenance to high standards with compliance and safety in mind.
  • Ensure safety inspections and servicing are completed and recorded in DAFcheck.
  • Provide flexible support to keep service continuity during holidays and absences.
  • Coordinate with approved contractors for specialist services when required.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety and environment policies.

What you will enjoy doing
  • As a VehicleMaintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining andrepairing the mechanical and cryogenic systems used across our PGP,Cryospeed, and Bulk vehicle and trailer fleet. You will help ensure the safe,reliable, and efficient operation of our transport activities throughhigh-quality maintenance, accurate record keeping, and compliance withcompany procedures
  • Working aspart of a supportive and inclusive team, you will carry out planned anddefect maintenance activities to the highest standards, ensuring compliance, health and safety legislation and standards
  • You will ensure scheduled safety inspections, servicing, and defect repairs are completed to the highest quality standards, with all work accurately recorded within the DAFcheck system and vehicles signed off as roadworthy and safe before returning to operation
  • You will provide flexible support across the workshop team to help maintain service continuity during periods of annual leave and absence, in line with the relevant working arrangements
  • Coordinate with approved BOC contractors for specialist services such as tyre replacement, windscreen repairs, auto electrical work, and major vehicle repairs when required
  • You will uphold health, safety, environmental, and compliance standards, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependable timekeeping, and a collaborative approach that contributes positively to team performance and customer service
  • You will maintain your technical knowledge through ongoing training and development, ensuring compliance with company processes and industry requirements
  • In this role, you will take responsibility for effective communication with drivers, colleagues, and external partners, ensuring operational requests are supported in a timely and professional manner
  • Additionally, you will contribute to an inclusive working environment where colleagues are treated with respect, different perspectives are valued, and everyone has the opportunity to contribute and succeed

What makes you great
  • You have time-served as a HGV Technician with NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualifications
  • Proven experience in fleet maintenance with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively as part of a small team
  • In addition, you are skilled in scheduled servicing, safety inspections, diagnostics, and defect rectification of ADR vehicles and trailers
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and capability to plan and manage allocated workload efficiently
  • Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency in Windows, Outlook, SAP, and diagnostic platforms such as DAF check & Truckcheck
  • Furthermore, you have practical knowledge of using diagnostic equipment for fault identification and repair
