Job summary

BOC Limited, a Linde company, in Thame, is seeking a LGV Class 2 ADR Driver to join our team. You will be responsible for the roadworthiness, safekeeping and cleanliness of your vehicle, perform daily pre-use inspections and assist with loading and unloading using forklift or crane when required.

You will complete 15–20 gas cylinder deliveries daily, follow defensive driving techniques and driver regulations, interact with customers, and uphold our safety standards.

Qualifications

• HGV/LGV Cat C licence required.
• ADR Class 2 in packages required.
• Driver CPC required.
• Knowledge of defensive driving and driver regulations (incl. HSA).
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers.
• High level of personal integrity.
• LGV entitlement held for a minimum of 2 years for insurance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure roadworthiness, safekeeping and cleanliness of your vehicle.
• Complete daily pre-use inspection check sheets for your vehicle and any required equipment.
• Operate equipment such as forklift trucks and cranes for loading/unloading when needed.
• Apply defensive driving techniques and follow regulations to transport gas cylinders safely.
• Deliver approximately 15-20 gas cylinders per day within your designated area.
• Use safe manual handling techniques when delivering and collecting cylinders.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures.

What You Will Enjoy Doing

• You will be responsible for ensuring the roadworthiness, safekeeping and cleanliness of the vehicle allocated to you
• You will complete daily pre-use inspection check sheets for your vehicle, as well as any specialised equipment required as part of your daily duties
• You will, where necessary, operate specialist BOC equipment such as forklift trucks and cranes to load and unload vehicles
• You will apply defensive driving techniques and utilise your knowledge of commercial driving regulations and road networks to ensure the safe transportation and delivery of gas cylinders
• You will complete approximately 15-20 gas cylinder deliveries per day to customers within your designated area
• You will use safe manual handling techniques when delivering and collecting cylinders to and from customer sites
• You will be responsible for adhering to all Health & Safety policies, procedures and operational requirements

What Makes You Great

• You are holding an HGV/LGV Cat C licence
• ADR (Class 2 in packages)
• A driver CPC is required
• Knowledge of Defensive driving and Driver Regulations, including HSA regulations
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers
• Having a high level of personal integrity suits to your profile
• Have held the LGV entitlement for a minimum of 2 years, for insurance purposes
